Moksha Yoga Winnipeg, voted the best local hot yoga studio in the city nine years in a row, first came on the scene mid March 2007 as one of the first hot yoga studios in the city. Ryann, Amy and their team of five teachers instructing a mixture of Pilates, Moksha Yoga, Cycling, and Flow Classes really introduced the accessibility and freedom that hot yoga can offer to the Osborne area and beyond. Three classes a day increased to 10 within the first month, and our community has grown so much. In the last 10 years we have had 1,200,125 visits (yes that reads as over a million…wow) from all the students in the community; we thank you so much for sharing your sweat with us! This journey has been an incredible one for our entire team.
This studio has been a catalyst for many amazing people. Amy now owns two studios in Hamilton, Ontario (Moksha Yoga Hamilton, and Moksha Yoga Stoney Creek). Twin Sisters, Mesia Custodio and Nena Buduhan started as energy exchangers at Moksha 10 years ago, went to teacher training and have now gone on to own two Moksha Yoga studios in Windsor, ON. Sari Hochman started by teaching cycling and is still teaching inspiring classes with us today! Noah Krol first led a circuit training class at Moksha and now owns Peg City – a very successful studio just down the street from us on Osborne. After attending Moksha as a student and an energy exchanger, Jitendra started teaching with us in 2007 now owns his own studio Downtown. Ali and Jason, longtime Moksha Yoga Winnipeg students & teachers are now the owners of Moksha Yoga Kildonan. Phil and Ryann Doucette now own a studio in Minneapolis and have been sharing Moksha/Modo in the US for the past six years. These are just a few examples of the dedicated people who have allowed Moksha Yoga to grow and continue to flourish in Winnipeg!
Two and a half years after we opened on Donald, another yoga studio in the south came on the scene! Waverley allowed our students to have more class options and space accompanied with a daycare, vegan cafe (oh those yoga bite were good), and of course more hot yoga. As times have changed and our babies have grown up, the cafe and daycare have been transformed into a second studio for Barre Classes which are offered at both locations.
So come and celebrate our 10 year anniversary on March 17th!
We will be offering FREE Classes at both locations that will include local artists, special guests and a variety of our Moksha teaching sangha to inspire us throughout the day. There will also be refreshments, snacks, live music, and an energized team to welcome you at both locations.
Today we have the opportunity to be inspired by over 50 amazing instructors at Moksha Yoga Wininpeg. We’ve been so grateful to have them as a part of our community.
Congratulations to the Moksha Yoga Winnipeg team, happy anniversary!
